時の交差

I have been thinking the Time is like a standing on a ruler. Present is standing spot, backward is the past and the forward is the future.
One day, I realized and start to think “The time is just a human definition. And what is a time as my concept?”.
“The past is not over, it still exists at the same time.”
With such a theme, I painting motifs that are familiar and often overlooked.
This work uses Yuzen Japanese paper, one of the techniques inherited from the Edo period.

時間へのイメージは、定規の上に立っているような感覚で、後ろが過去、前が未来。
１ミリずつ＝１秒ずつ前方である未来に進んでいく。そんなイメージだった。
ある日、「時間は人間が定義したものに過ぎ無い」と、改めて認識。
「時間とは一体、何なんだろう？」
過去という時間は無くなって終わってしまった物だと考えていたが、
過去から引き継がれている私たちの命・肉体は過去の人から作り継がれているもの。
数世代前のご先祖様と自分は、親よりもそっくりかもしれない。
「過去とは終わってしまったものではなく、今も同時に存在している。」
そんな事をテーマに、見慣れて見逃しがちなモチーフを対象に描いたシリーズ。
この作品には江戸時代から引き継がれている技法の１つ、友禅和紙を使用している。
