<About Golden folding screen>
The folding screen was originally from China and was used as a room partition and a windbreak tool.
The oldest folding screen in Japan is said to have been presented in 686 by Silla, the origin of Korea.
The appearance of the gold folding screen was in the Muromachi period (1336 – 1573).
The folding screen with gold covering one side was very popular, making more desirable than painting and drawing alone.
The golden folding screen became one of the important exports from Japan at that time.
After that, in the Edo period, gold folding screens began to be used in congratulatory seats such as ceremonies, worship services, and festivals.
In modern times, it is set up for various celebrations such as the background of bride and groom seat at the wedding reception, actor and actress’s marriage press conference, award ceremony, and the *Hina dolls. At the wedding ceremony, it means “to make the lives of the two of us shine like gold”.
At the Hina festival, in addition to the meaning of blessing, there is a theory that the dolls are display the golden folding screen “to illuminate the future path of the girl who owns the dolls.”

<金屏風作品について>
屏風は686年に新羅から献上され、江戸時代に儀式、礼拝、節句といった、
おめでたい席で金屏風が使われるようになったと言われている。
前に立つ人を引き立て、その人の道が輝くよう願いが込められた
伝統的な金屏風に現代アート(時を表現したコラージュ)を施した。
新旧の不思議な質感は鑑賞者を時の旅に誘う。
コラージュで表現していた様々な時間の流れ
(早い・遅い・過去・未来)。
それは時間以外にも存在する
目に見えないエネルギーのようにも見える。
文明が進化しようと、こうした景色は、
古代の人も未来の人も
見ている景色は同じかもしれない。
『ポップな絵の前で写真を撮るのもいいけど、
日本の廃れ行こうとする伝統品と、
一般的に目に止まりにくい純粋芸術とのコラボ作品の前で
写真を撮るのもいいんじゃないない?』
と、少し皮肉も込めた作品である。
